I am, to this day, confused as to why everything a female character does has to either have some underlying cleverness or purpose or backstabbery in mind. Just once, I'd like to see a sentence that would, for example, go like this:

"She wore suits. Not because she thought they were snappy, or because she demonstrated how women could wear suits just as well as men could (which was, on the whole, not a feat of great difficulty; not many men gasp in shock at the blasphemy of a woman wielding a suit, as so many women who wear suits seem to imagine), or even because she liked the color. She wore suits simply because she had a suit, and wearing it was the only logical thing to do."

Then again, I am also, to this day, confused as to why there hasn't yet been a female character who doesn't bathe, because she doesn't trust shampoo. So disregard this, I suppose.
